WLRS Broadcast Studio

At Lorenzo R. Smith School, students are the stars of the show!
WLRS is a fully-functional, professionally equipped broadcasting studio designed to promote: oral speaking skills, student confidence, reading skills, filmmaking abilities, oragnizational planning and delivery and effective communications throughout the school site.
Housed next to the library, it is the place where students broadcast our daily building announcements, that get transmitted directly to large screen monitors in every classroom.
Our WLRS staff is made up of students from 5-8th grades, who have recieved extensive training in braodcasting from in-house staff, as well as from field trips to real broadcasting studios, such as WLS in Chicago.
